Have you ever woke up one morning feeling like you’re missing some zest and ump? Frustrated or unfulfilled are just two feelings that always seem to greet you? Are you beating yourself up because you feel like you could be doing more than you’re already doing? You might have heard stories from writers or musicians who have claimed to always know their calling and pursued their passions from birth. You’re probably thinking I wish I felt this way and you can! It just takes a little digging. Think of your passion and purpose as a work of art. It’s going to take some time to develop. After all Rome wasn’t in built in a day, so let’s work towards finding out what your purpose, because everyone on this earth has one!
What are your dreams? Aspirations? What makes you feel alive and energized? If you haven’t already these are some questions you need to start asking yourself. This will help you start your journey and truly appreciate what life has to offer. Think about the things that make you really happy and start to do them. Whether its work related or personal it should be things that you enjoy doing without getting paid to do them.
Fulfill different aspects of your wants and needs
Many people think that their purpose has to revolve around one thing. Sometimes our passions are about balancing multiple interests that fulfill different aspects of our wants and needs. Realizing that your one purpose can be made up of multiple facets can offer you more flexibility in setting that purpose.
Stop trying to please other people
Even if your purpose has a social element to it, trying to constantly please people will hinder it. Be sure that the actions you are taking in life are your choice and not the choices of the people around you. You only live once so make sure that you are truly living your life for you!
Surround yourself with positive people
To piggyback on avoiding pleasing other people, make sure the people around you support, respect and love you. You are a combination of the five people you spend the most time with. Choose people that push you to be greater!
Life isn’t about finding pieces of a puzzle. It’s about creating and putting those exceptional pieces together.
