New Year, New You right? It’s the most common catchphrase of January that holds such a conquer the world promise. Surprisingly, achieving what you set out to do on New Years Day is possible. It’s really easy to get sidetracked after some time has passed, so we decided to help keep you motivated and focused with a few tips.
Here are some tips to keep you focused on the New You:
1. When you make a plan, anticipate bumps.
Before even trying to achieve your goals, target potential pitfalls and troubleshoot them. For example, if you were planning on going for a jog today and the weather is bad, go to the gym and get a good workout in and if you don’t want to go to the gym, you can do a nice workout at home.
2. Channel the little engine that could.
A person’s drive is based off of what he/she believes about their abilities, not on how objectively talented you are. The stronger your self-belief is the more inspired you’ll be to accomplish your goals.
3. Don’t let your goals run wild.
When your sights are a little too ambitious, they can backfire and burn you out. It might actually become demotivating. In order to avoid this, taking small steps every day will not only help you hold your interest in what you’re trying to achieve, but will also ensure that you move slowly but surely toward your goal.
4. Remember the deeper meaning.
You are more likely to realize a goal when it has a true personal significance to you. Remember why you started and keep in mind how amazing it’s going to feel once your plan is in full effect. FOCUS: Follow One Course Until Successful. Clear your mind of can’t! Instead of making several resolutions, make one resolution to stick to your resolutions.
The New You should just want to be better a better you than you were in 2014 and yesterday. Set your goals, Make a plan, Get to work, Stick to it and before you know it you will achieve it! Nothing is impossible! You have everything you need its just a matter of putting the work in. The time is NOW! Make 2015 one of the best years of your life.
