Self-acceptance can be a profound step towards realizing your happiness. I say realizing your happiness, because it lies within, waiting for a chance to be brought out. We all spend a great deal of our time attempting to live up to standards that family, friends or society have set for us. We spend so much time trying to make others happy. Doing this sets us up to live a life that is not our own. Reclaiming your life is one of the most powerful things you can choose to do, in order to assure your own happiness.
In order for you to truly be happy, you must start to create your own happiness. Some people think it takes a lot to do so, but it’s the little things that can turn a whole day or week around.
Find the Positive.
Wake up and be thankful for waking up. Life is very short. So appreciate getting another opportunity to simply live and enjoy what is around you.
See challenges, not difficult situations.
Every day won’t be perfect. Where there’s a will, there’s definitely a way. With every problem comes a solution. Always remember God gives battles to his strongest soldiers.
Include pleasure boosters throughout the day.
If you need to take breaks throughout the day to refuel, do so. Everyone needs a moment to themselves. This will help you feel energized and make your creative juices flow.
Selfish vs. Selfless
There’s nothing wrong with being selfish in certain situations. If you know you won’t feel comfortable in a certain situation don’t put yourself in it. Choose what you know you will enjoy and what truly makes you happy.
Learn to control your whims or they will control your life and steal your happiness. True happiness is deciding what’s important at the moment and focusing your energy on it.
It’s a brand new year and a new week. Make every moment count! Be happy not because everything is good, but because you can see the good in everything. Happiness is a conscious choice, not an automatic response. Start your week by remembering that you are in charge of how you feel and your choice should be happiness!
