Forget about those resolutions already? : Staying Focused on the Goals You’ve Set

Do you remember those New Year resolutions you set on December 31st or January 1st? I hope you didn’t give up on them yet. The only reason why goals would stop working is because of you. Even if you haven’t forgotten them, but might have started to feel discouraged. Don’t fret we want to see you succeed and help you achieve the goals you’ve set.

Here are a few tips to help you stay focused:

1. Concentrate on 1-3 goals. 

Of course you want to achieve as many goals as possible. But focusing on too many at once will definitely stress you out. If you have more than one goal, pick the top three that are most important to you. Then you can start focusing on the others once these are achieved.

2. Create a vision board. 

This is a really great way to keep you focused. It’s one thing to tell yourself that you need to achieve your goals, but it’s a completely different thing when you actually see what you’re trying to achieve. Constantly seeing your vision board will inspire you and remind you to take action.

3. Be clear on why you are pursuing the goals. 

For example, if getting in shape is one of your resolutions, think about why you are doing it. Is it just to loose weight? Is it to feel confident in your bikini? Or maybe you want to lose weight for a big vacay that you are planning to take this summer. Establish those reasons and remember them when you get discouraged.

4. Learn to say no. 

Do you put your goals aside for other people? If so, that needs to stop immediately. Yes, once or twice that’s fine. But if it becomes a habit, start making it a habit to put you first. You can’t put your life on hold for others.

5. Track your results. 

This is a very important tip. Tracking your goals will let you know that your actions are making a difference. Once you see that your effort and hard work is paying off you will only work harder. Once you shed those pounds you’ve wanted to lose, going forward will only get easier.
